O2Micro's patented methodology drives light sources that enable LCD backlighting, needed to illuminate many display applications. Display applications comprise TVs, LCD monitors, notebooks, video cameras, mobile phones, PDAs, game machines, medical instruments, GPS navigation systems, and industrial machines.
'This methodology reduces component count in, and therefore cost of, display panel power control for multi-lamp systems such as TV applications,' said Dr. Yung Lin, executive vice president, O2Micro.
